“No One Is Coming To Save Us, We Have To Save Ourselves.”  Liz Cheney

Four alarm fire barely describes the situation we face in our country. I am in the process of starting a non partisan neighborhood coalition of American Citizens for Democracy, dedicated to stopping the looming threats. I invite you to contact me here if you are a concerned citizen interested in joining with others looking to heal the terrible divisions and to look for solutions. We cannot survive as a country if we see one another as evil enemies. The purpose of this effort is to defeat the looming threat of dictatorship and rediscover ourselves as American citizens, no partisanship, no political issues, all are welcome who come in good faith and friendship. I don't know where and how we will meet, but someone will have an idea, someone will know how. There is little time to waste. We have to start somewhere. 

If you are not aware of Project 2025 it is imperative that you stop everything you are doing google it and read up. It is funded to the tune of $22 million by The Heritage Foundation and has organized a whole new government model based on Trumpism and all its vileness, starting Day One of his hoped for dictatorship. 

This is nothing less than a Fascist takeover of our country, our freedoms, and all we hold dear. Highly organized, they intend to purge the government of environmental laws to have total fossil fuel freedom, purge anything gender related, strip women of all family planning freedom, undo marriage equality, attack freedom of the press, they plan to persecute/prosecute those on their vast “enemies list,” and much, much more. All the faithful Christians who have fallen for the Big Lie and its proponent will find themselves abandoned at the drop of a hat, like so many others who think they are invulnerable. 

I have been inspired by a large cadre of former Republicans who were there, in the rooms, at the parties, in the offices, in the administrations, who know the players, and know exactly whereof they speak. Liz Cheney, who could not be farther from me politically, has become my standard bearer for fearless truth telling. She says, “no one is coming to save us, we only have ourselves.” Michael Moore said the same thing this week, “no one is coming to save us, we only have ourselves.” Both on opposite ends of the political spectrum who identify the same threat.

Are we willing to wake up in November to find we did nothing to try to stop this tsunami of hatred and violence? We need to return to our fellow citizens as friends and allies, we need to rediscover our neighbors, that we can disagree on lots of stuff but we can support each other in democratic freedoms and basic humanity.

I implore you to understand what is right in front of us, what is threatening us, and find out what we can do together. Our only option is to vote for Democracy and get out the vote, especially our disaffected young people, they need to rise above their grievances and vote for their own futures. Like Liz says, if you don’t like certain policies you can live with them for four years and try to fix it later. If this threat is not stopped now there will be no fixing, there will be no voting, there will be no paths to freedom. We have less than eight months.
